PG6 active HYDRA FACTOR®

PG6 Active HYDRA FACTOR includes:

1. Trehalose: Protects skin and hair from environmental stresses by preserving proteins and cell membranes, particularly under dehydration.

2. Sorbitol: Sourced from fruits, it acts as a moisturizer and humectant, aiding in product hydration and boosting preservative effectiveness.

3. PCA: Present in skin’s Natural Moisturizing Factor, it provides moisturizing and conditioning benefits for skin and hair care products.

4. Sodium Hyaluronate: A derivative of hyaluronic acid, it forms a moisturizing film on the skin, smoothing and filling in wrinkles.

5. Glycerin: Attracts moisture, used as a humectant in cosmetics to prevent water evaporation and reduce skin’s water loss.

Moisturizing effect

PG6 active Hydra Factor® reduces flaking and quantity of corneocyte, making the skin smooth and soft. Using a formulation containing 2% of PG6 active Hydra Factor®, the moisturizing effect persists for up to 6 days after the end of the treatment (7 days). 

 

PG6 active Hydra Factor® assists the process of desquamation of the outer layer of stratum corneum and reduces scaling. Significantly greater reductions in both degrees of scaling and corneocyte counts were seen in subjects treated with the formula containing PG6 active Hydra Factor®.

PG6 active Hydra Factor® showed a significantly longer lasting hydration, up to 6 days after the last application (day 7) of 2% PG6 active Hydra Factor®.

In-Vivo test using CORNEOMETER® CM825, shows that skin hydration values increase statistically significantly at all times studied in the long term test (2% PG6 active Hydra Factor).

PG6 active Hydra Factor® drastically reduces water loss (TEWL) after treatment with an irritant. After irritation with SDS, untreated skin and areas treated with the Control showed a large increase in TEWL.

anti-inflammatory effect

PG6 active Hydra Factor® reduces erythematous states up to -16.7%. The areas treated with PG6 active Hydra Factor® decrease erythema index irritated with SDS.
