The sample has been tested for the acute toxicity starting from neat product and then diluted as following to identify the maximum concentration for acute toxicity:

  • 1000 mg/L

  • 560 mg/L

  • 320 mg/L

  • 180 mg/L

  • 100 mg/L

 

ALGAL INHIBITION, ACUTE TOXICITY

Algal inhibition – Acute toxicity has been defined evaluating EC50 (72h) on Selenastrum Capricornutum (guideliness OECD 201:2011).

SELENASTRUM CAPRICORNUTUM TEST

The different dilutions have been placed in contact with a suspension of Selenastrum Capricornutum, and incubated for 72h.

After incubation the population density of seaweeds has been compared with a control sample to obtain EC50 (72 h).

The result of the test is EC50 (72 h) >100 mg/L.
